Instructed to represent wife who had divorced 5 years previously without understanding the risk that if husband were to pass away she would lose all of the pension benefits which were substantial.

Unfortunately the Husband refused to engage so having to issue Court proceedings.  Managing to secure a Court order for the Husband not to cash in any of his pensions until the conclusion of the proceedings.

Husband’s behaviour during the court process was slow and at times did not comply with Court orders, thus resulting in us obtaining our costs from him on behalf of the wife.

Ultimately being awarded a final Order of which Wife received 50% of the pension and secured the transfer of the family home from joint names into the Wife’s sole name as the Husband had moved out many years before and was now living elsewhere.
