Angie’s story – You are never “too old” to try and redefine your career.

My legal career began later in life and quite serendipitously over a coffee with a friend.  My journey began in 2015 as a Legal Secretary in Conveyancing.  By the end of 2016, opportunity knocked to join the Family Law team and within a few weeks I knew it was the practice area that I wanted to be a part of.

Fast forward to 2021, based on my secretarial experience, I embraced the role of a Paralegal at a large regional law firm.

In May 2022, I was offered the position as Paralegal at The Family Law Company supporting director Gemma Sparks to help families involved in child contact disputes and victims of domestic abuse. I have never looked back.

I take great pride in knowing that by building a strong rapport with our clients, listening carefully and giving my time, I am helping in some small way. No two days are ever the same, and it’s certainly never boring. It is not always easy but the support from Gemma and everyone at the Family Law Company in my personal and professional development has been brilliant.  I am and will always be extremely grateful to The Family Law Company and Gemma Sparks for believing in me and pushing me to fulfil my role to the best of my ability.

You are never “too old” to try and explore new challenges, find your passion or redefine your career.  Just like the TFLC core values you just have to be brave.
