Not the superhero kind of brave – but brave enough to make the hardest of choices or go on when everything feels too much.
For over 30 years The Family Law Company has stood beside those making brave decisions. Now we are looking for others in our communities who are living Everyday Bravery.
Last year nominations included;
A father who raised his daughter alone in a country where no one expected him to.
A mum homeschooling neurodivergent children, supporting their mental health and still finding time to write a children’s book to help other families.
A woman who walked away from abuse and built a new life for her children.
A man who spoke publicly about his cancer to help others face their fears.
A nurse who kept caring for her patients while battling her own illness.
A friend who turned grief into a charity helping families through loss.
A woman who started again after losing her sight in an accident.
A young mum who climbed a mountain for others when life already felt like one.
Everyday Bravery celebrate people who face addiction, illness, trauma, or loss and still choose to show up.
If you know someone who is living bravely then we want you to nominate them below. Our panel of local people will pick someone whose story of bravery stood out to them for an opportunity to spend time making unforgettable memories at Bovey Castle.
Nominations now open!
If you know someone who truly lives everyday bravery
It took courage and I left with nothing but now I have financial certainty.
I’d been married for a long time, living in the family home and raising the children while my husband travelled around the world. He was unfaithful and for many years I had been unhappy although I kept going because of the children. Finally, I’d had enough and wanted to separate – it took me four years to build up the courage.
Jenny had been married for over 30 years. Her husband was a serial adulterer and eventually she had enough and separated from him. Manipulated by him she got divorced without taking advice on finances.
Director and Head of Divorce and Finance, Rachel Buckley untangled the financial situation so Jenny could finally move on.
