Legal secretary Alisha shares how The Family Law Company are supporting her through her LPC.

Working alongside studying the Legal Practice Course (LPC) has allowed me to gain key legal experience which has highly benefited my studies.

In particular the opportunity of working alongside managing director Norman Hartnell who has over 30 years of extensive family law experience has been invaluable, giving me the opportunity to learn first-hand from a leader in the sector.

In fact the Family Law Company as a whole has provided me with tremendous guidance and support from the get-go of me beginning the Legal Practice Course.

There are definite benefits of working in a large specialist practice like being able to attend court and draft key legal documentation which translates directly into the practical side of the Legal Practice Course. The hands on experience has really helped me to understand the course at a deeper level.

The culture here is geared to learning whether you are early in your career or joining the directorship programme. All colleagues at The Family Law Company have such a supportive approach to learning on the job and are happy to answer my questions. In fact the asking of questions to gain an understanding or more information is always highly encouraged.

The support doesn’t stop in work. The company fully support my studies outside of the workplace and ensure I am provided with the relevant study leave before the various exam periods throughout the year. Overall I am thoroughly enjoying my studies and training experience at The Family Law Company.
