Solicitor Grace Bradley from The Family Law Company has been shortlisted for Resolution Legal Aid Practitioner of the Year.
Grace, who is also Director of the firm, manages complex cases that often have international aspects, including child abduction, domestic abuse and contact issues for parents. Some of these cases run for years before they are resolved and Grace’s tenaciousness in pursing results in challenging cases in well known.
She is a panel member of the Reunite support network for international abduction and custody disputes and the Government International Child Abduction and Contact Unit. Grace also helps lead The Family Law Company’s legal aid committee.
Legal aid is available to help meet the costs of legal advice, family mediation and legal representation for those who are eligible for support, who are unable to fund the work themselves. Many law firms have moved away from providing legal aid due to the low fees paid for the work by the Legal Aid Agency.
The Family Law Company is committed to offering the service for the long-term, with many experienced lawyers like Grace prepared to put in sustained effort for clients who often have additional difficulties alongside financial issues.
Joint-MD Rachel Buckley commented: “Grace’s work is always exceptional. She takes on some of our toughest cases and is one of the most dedicated solicitors I know in getting access to justice for the most vulnerable in society.
“We’re proud she’s a finalist and wish her good luck for the awards ceremony in Westminster in September.”
Resolution is the national organisation for family justice professionals committed to a non-confrontational approach to family matters, with over 6,500 members in England and Wales.
Melanie Bataillard-Samuel, Chair of Resolution, said: “Congratulations to all of our finalists of the Resolution Awards 2025. These individuals, firms and initiatives continue to go above and beyond to champion better outcomes for families.
“The Resolution Awards are a vital part of our work, as they shine a spotlight on the outstanding commitment, care, and quiet determination shown by professionals across the family justice community. The quality of submissions was not only impressive, it was genuinely inspiring.
“There is no better way to celebrate our Year of the Code, than to look at our finalists, who epitomise everything Resolution stands for. Our judging panel had the challenging task in narrowing down the shortlist, and I want to thank everyone who submitted a nomination – your work is making a real difference to our profession.”
