‘Teamwork’ key to law firm’s timely donation for Citizens Advice Exeter

Teamwork was the keyword for fundraising by The Family Law Company which has just presented a donation of £1,000 to charity of the year, Citizen’s Advice Exeter.

It took teamwork to organise the fundraising events with the main activities, including a quiz held at Exeter’s Historic Guildhall in late 2019. This was well supported by teams from the local business community, raising £650. Further donations were received from teams taking part in a table tennis and pizza night held at the company’s Balliol offices.

Teamwork was also needed to present the donation virtually! Director Donna Hart and Marketing Manager Kerry England met online with Citizen’s Advice Exeter Chair of Trustees Dennis Mardon and Chief Executive, Steve Barriball.

Steve said: “We are so pleased to receive financial support from The Family Law Company during these challenging times.

“We have worked in partnership with The Family Law Company for a number of years now and this donation will help us to support our clients as they face the financial, and other, challenges that the Covid-19 pandemic presents.”

Although face to face appointments are not currently available due to government coronavirus guidance, Citizens Advice Exeter is still providing help through its Advice Line, whilst the online Help to Claim service supports people in the early stages of their Universal Credit claim.

The charity’s website also provides helpful advice columns looking at current questions around returning to work, what help is available for the self-employed and what to do if you are struggling to pay your bills.
