Four New Directors for The Family Law Company

We are delighted to announce the appointment of four new Directors to the Board, strengthening the team and securing our long-term succession plans.

The move swells the number on the Board by a third, with 58 percent now being women. Two of our new Directors are based at the head office in Exeter and two at our Plymouth office.

In Exeter, Accounts Manager Jennie Wise has been with The Family Law Company for 20 years; she started with us as an administrative assistant. Senior Associate Solicitor Fiona Wadey joined in 2012 to specialise in divorce and the financial consequences of marriage and civil partnership breakdown.

In Plymouth, Senior Associate Solicitor  Kirsty Thyer specialises in the law relating to children. Kirsty has been a member of the Law Society’s Children Panel since 2008. Kirsty’s colleague Derek Jordan is Team Leader of the Private Law Children and Domestic Abuse team. Derek handles many legal aid cases for the firm.

Business Development Director, Rachel Buckley says, “As Shareholding Directors we are keen to see the business develop and grow and in order to do so it is important to have a firm foundation and structure. With this in mind we have been considering our long term succession plans. This means bringing through into senior management those we hope will take the business forward into the future and who share our vision and ethos.”

The new Directors will spend the next few months considering areas of the business they might wish to take a special interest in. They join our existing Directors Rachel Buckley, Jane Chanot, David Cobern, Sally Cook, Donna Hart, Jonathan Madge, Stephen Sowden and Managing Director Norman Hartnell.
