Our new office in Exeter has opened with family specialists who focus on children issues such as contact disputes, residence issues, care proceedings, child protection, adoption and child abduction.

The new office is located opposite the court in Exeter and consists of leading lawyers who are widely recognised as Child Law Specialists.

Stephen Sowden, Director and specialist in Children’s Issues and Grandparents Rights, is joined by Julie Clayton, a recognised expert in the field of care proceedings and adoption, and John Hind, a Family Law trainer for Resolution with a wealth of experience in children matters.

Stephen Sowden said: “The law relating to children can be particularly complicated which can make it a stressful time. Our Children’s team try to reduce hostility and protect children from conflict between parents, to achieve the best possible outcome for both. We can help in many ways – representing mothers, fathers, grandparents and others in any dispute, such as child protection investigations, care orders, child abduction, adoption, parental responsibility and contact orders.”

Lawyers in the team are members of the Association of Lawyers for Children, Resolution, the Law Society Children’s Panel, the British Association of Adoption and Fostering, Resolution Accredited in Child Abduction, and the Grandparents Association.

Free initial advice is offered and the firm is able to offer Legal Aid to those eligible. Anyone wishing to speak to a child law specialist should call 01392 421 777.
