On Friday, 24 June Hartnell Chanot & Partners organised a day of fundraising activities and raised £765 for Force Cancer Charity.

Throughout the day members of staff took it in turns to stand outside Exeter County Court in Southernhay and persuade passers-by to pay one pound to guess the number of balloons packed into a staff member’s car.

The firm also went ‘blue’ for the day with a wear blue dress down and a blue themed quiz. Other activities included a ‘name the bear’ competition and a raffle.

The person who guessed nearest to the total of 166 balloons was an employee at the Court and was presented with his prize, an enormous teddy, at the end of the day.

Jane Chanot, Director at Hartnell Chanot & Partners commented: “We are delighted to be supporting Force Cancer Charity as our charity of the year. Force provides a vital support service for the Exeter community and one which resonates among our staff.

The firm is committed to raising as much money as it can for this vital local charity. Other activities planned over forthcoming months include a ‘May the Force be with you’ dress down day and a skittles competition involving other local businesses.

Jane added: “This fundraising event was the first of many to come this year. It was fantastic to have been granted access to park outside the court and our balloon filled car certainly attracted lots of attention!”
