Two of the firm’s children law specialists, Amanda Cavinder in Plymouth and Suzanne Besant in Exeter, have recently been appointed to the Law Society’s Children Panel. Membership of this accreditation scheme is only awarded to those solicitors who can demonstrate significant depth of knowledge and experience in handling all aspects of children law.

Suzanne qualified as a solicitor in 2005 having practised in family law for nine years prior to that and qualifying as a legal executive. Amanda also qualified as a solicitor in 2005. Both Suzanne and Amanda work across all areas of law related to children such as child protection investigations, care orders, child abduction, adoption, parental responsibility and contact orders. They represent both children and adults on these matters

Hartnell Chanot & Partners, which has the largest team of family law specialists in the South West now has six representatives on the Children Panel.

Norman Hartnell, Director and fellow panel member commented: “We are immensely proud of Amanda and Suzanne. Membership of this panel confirms their expertise and recognises their contribution to the area of children law.”

He added: “The law relating to children can be particularly complicated and stressful. All members of our children law team are committed to putting children at the centre and helping to protect these vulnerable members of our society.”
