I have been married for less than twelve months and the marriage is not working, can I get divorced now?

Not yet, no. Even if you can satisfy that you meet the grounds as to why your marriage should end, under English law you cannot divorce until the first anniversary of your marriage.

You should however take the opportunity to seek legal advice now as there are various preliminary steps that are required which we can prepare in advance to ensure that you can file to dissolve your marriage at the earliest date. There may also be children and/or financial matters associated with the separation that need to be considered without delay.
