I became a Trustee nearly 3 years ago when I attended the opening of CAB’s new premises in Exeter.

At that event I learned so much about the work they did and how they relied on charitable donations, volunteers and a hard-working team.

I was particularly impressed with their Chair Dennis’s enthusiasm and Chief Executive Steve’s hard work.

Their ethos is ‘whatever your problem, whatever your situation we aim to provide the advice clients need’.

They are non-judgemental, and their service is free, independent, impartial and completely confidential.

I knew I wanted to join such a positive and hard-working charity that benefits our city in so many ways, so I became a Trustee.

I’m so glad I did, as I’ve got to meet so many great people and leaned about other charities such as the Foodbank, to which my company makes regular donations.

If anyone is thinking about taking on a Trustee role I’d say do it! It’s so rewarding, and you really will make a difference.
