Sadly, January traditionally sees an increase in enquiries for a family lawyer. It takes courage to fix what is not working in our lives, but the New Year can often provide the determination to make new choices – which for some people means making the decision to separate. The challenge is how to call time on your relationship in a civilised and understanding way, particularly when children are involved.

Solicitors at The Family Law Company are committed to handling the breakdown of a relationship in a sensitive manner, by informing and supporting clients through the process, and helping them make informed decisions about their future.

Although legal aid for divorce is no longer available to the majority of clients, we believe assistance with divorce should be available to all and offer a free initial half hour appointment to discuss issues relating to divorce and family breakdown. For people whose incomes would previously have entitled them to legal aid, we give a reduced rate for divorce, children applications or financial cases.

As a family lawyer who has practised in North Cornwall and North Devon for over 20 years, I make sure clients requiring matrimonial or family legal advice receive an excellent, affordable service.
